Hillary had an infamous business that busted cheating spouses, she made headlines!  After the story about her broke in her local news, dozens of law enforcement agents, and even someone from the post office, looked up her DMV data. “They want to know where you live, and that is what scares me. You know, I’ve got kids now. It’s frightening,” said Hilary DeVary." 

Then the unthinkable happens, a breach of personal data. They requested an audit to see who else had been looking up their personal data after they, and millions of others, find their private information inappropriately accessed by a former government employee.

The DeVarys were unwitting victims of one of the most widespread cases of data abuse in Minnesota’s history. A state audit found that fully half of the state’s law enforcement employees were likely accessing state databases for questionable reasons.  Hilary DeVary filed a federal suit over misuse of driver’s license data.
