She lost so much when she was forced to live with her adult rapist.

Next year would be her senior year in high school, and it's so sad. Before she was kidnapped, she and I were looking forward to her starting 7th Grade at a prestigious performing arts high school. What did she gain by living with the reprobate who made sure she was sexually abused every summer on parent time before he retired from the military and snatched her out of Study Hall?

Well, she has no friends. She will be 17 next month and she never got a summer job. She doesn't get herself up in the morning. She doesn't clean up after herself and she can't cook. Her father wants to keep her at home so he can get extra $$$ added to his military pension. She's not fun to talk to, even though he took her to Disney World every summer and to a bunch of national parks. Such a sad waste.

I don't even consider myself her mother anymore, and I don't look forward to seeing her ever again. But let's celebrate the anniversary of the day she was taken and talk about what might have been.
