From Angela's own words; My name is Angela Burrs. The reason I became a Holistic Practitioner is back in 1996, at the age of 35, I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. The sarcoidosis spread to my lungs, liver, kidneys, and I had fluid on the left side of my brain. I was dying, receiving a social security check and was on a bag of medications. Through prayer and meditation, I began to change my thinking pattern and began to focus on where I saw myself versus what I was going through. I also had to heal my emotions. I was angry at myself because I stayed longer than I should have in past abusive relationships. I forgave everyone, but I did not forgive myself. Once I began to heal my emotions, I was able to think clearer. I studied nutrition and health, began taking supplements to strengthen my immune system and I changed my eating habits. I eliminated white bread, white rice, white sugar; all whites from my diet and started eating foods to support my cells, organs, immune system, etc. As my body began to heal, I made a vow to God that if he healed me, I will let others know because God created the body to heal itself.? By 2000 the sarcoidosis went in remission and I got off all of my medications in 2001! Over the years, I gradually began adding live/raw foods to my diet, then my family and friends noticed how young I looked and saw how much energy I had. I am now 50 plus years young and I feel better now than I did when I was in my 30"s! I am not a doctor, but I can provide information to assist you on your journey and you can make a difference on your journey to wellness. May the journey begin!      00:31:00SilverLiningVillagesnoVeterans,Homeless,Health,Substance Abuse,Re-entryFrom Angela's own words; My name is Angela Burrs. The Conflict Resolution Academy has developed a curriculum that provides real soutions that can save marriages and lives of those involved. For those unfamiliiar with the pressures a young family faces in this age of multiple deployments, this interview will be a real eyeopener. Carol Rice has over 20 years of experience in dealing with conflict management in both the private and public sectors. With a focus on providing interactive strategies for dealing with difficult people, Ms. Rice has a strong desire to work with members of the military who are experiencing problems that are unique to Soldiers and their families. As the daughter of a career Army officer and the wife of an Air Force veteran, she understands, firsthand, the impact that being a part of the military family can have on relationships. As an owner/partner in Conflict Resolution Academy in Atlanta, GA, she has made it her goal to empower people to make decisions in their own best interest and to help them resolve their disputes at the lowest level possible. Ms. Rice puts strong emphasis on early intervention and alternate dispute resolution options in her work. She consults with a wide variety of clients dealing with relationship issues in a variety of settings, and has helped them find productive ways to nurture those relationships that are important to them. Silver Lining Villages has been developed to deal with the veterans who have been unable to come to grips with reintegrating into society and due to the demons many face from the horrors of war, find themselves on the street, homeless, and possibly even carrying thoughts of suicide. Programs that deal with resolving conflicts are a natural remedy to bridging the gap of deployment and the transition to civilian. 00:10:00SilverLiningVillagesnoSilver Lining Villages,Ed Mattson,Conflict Resolution, military transition home,Carol RiceMAJOR TECHNICAL PROBLEMS - WILL RESCHEDULE.  Handling conflicts within the family can be difficult but even more so when we are talking about military familiesBob Calvert of Talking with Heroeshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/silverliningvillages/2012/04/19/bob-calvert-of-talking-with-heroesCurrent Eventshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/silverliningvillages/2012/04/19/bob-calvert-of-talking-with-heroes/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/silverliningvillages/2012/04/19/bob-calvert-of-talking-with-heroesThu, 19 Apr 2012 22:00:00 GMTBob Calvert of Talking with Heroes Bob Calvert comes out of a strong military family and is the Founder and Host of the Talking with Heroes Talk Show www.talkingwithheroes.com and the Editor of their Online News Site www.thankyouforyourservice.us He raised his daughter by himself from the time she was 2 and a half. Nine years ago at 18 years old she surprised him by enlisting in the Army. Her then boyfriend (now husband) had already enlisted. He had no real personal experience with service in the military and realized he would have to learn how to support her as a soldier in the Army. In Dec 2005 at the suggestion of a SGT and Special Forces Soldier he started the Talking with Heroes talk show. Over about two years he has interviewed many military personnel, Veterans, Gold Star Families, and military support and Veterans groups via phone and broadcast live on the internet. In 2006 and 2007 he made three trips to Iraq with our troops. In April/May 2010 he made his first trip to Afghanistan with Ft Carson’s 4BCT 4ID. Many define "the patriot" as one who flies the flag and welcomes home the warriors; slapping the family car with bumper stickers, but the real patriots are our youth putting their lives on the line. With only .5% of America's youth volunteering to serve, it's one thing to say "I support the troops"; it's another thing to actually face the committment head-on by having a personal stake in the war by watching our kids really grow-up and knowing they may be changed forever. Tonight's brief interview will give the listener an idea of what the family goes through when our best and brightest head off to war to protect American values and/or to fight for the very ideals of freedom in which our country has lead the birth of our nation. 00:27:00SilverLiningVillagesnoScott Cestari,Think Talk Radio, families of military,Ed Mattson,Afghanistan WarInterview with a patriotic father having to send his son off to Afghanistan; The apprehension, The anxiety, and the prayers to watch over his son. There was just no one place to tell the cohesive story of all the things that are happening in the Southeast.
