Caught Up In The Rapture Of This World

As a youngster growing up in the church, I was often told, “Jesus is soon to come.” Personally, I wanted him to delay his coming so that I could enjoy “being grown.” I had big dreams, places I wanted to go, people I wanted to see and personal things to do; like get married, have children…the whole nine. I have been fortunate to cross many things off my “to do” list. Now that I am grown, I understand why the elders – many of whom have passed away - longed for the second coming. Having children certainly changes your perspective about the second coming. I would much rather my children grow up in heaven than this crazy place. As a matter of fact, being grown up gives the second coming of Jesus a more realistic perspective because now we see through a glass clearly.
