The Predatory/Prey relationship between men and women generally centers on sex as an experience men would like to have with a woman and a woman deciding if a man is worthy of such an experience. Men who have not been raised in a community in which marriage is a valued symbol of manhood still seek sexual conquests as a means of attaining social status. The dynamics of this is very prevalent among young people, many of whom are not being given guidance of any kind when it comes to their sexuality. So today we're going to take a look at a few hurtful episodes with young women who found themselves the victim of public humiliation after engaging in intimacy with a young man. One young woman, who found herself pregnant, was barred from the local mosque as a sign of shame. The young man, not part of her Muslim community, suffered no such public shame. In fact, he laughed about the episode with his friends. Women, are we responsible for this perpetuation of victimization of our daughters by publicly shaming them after their intimate relationships result in pregnancy? Men, are you creating more male predators by the examples you set, in jokingly encouraging men to pursue sexual conquests, not teaching them about how they are emotionally destroying women? "Religious" people - are we still perpetuating a shameful double standard of morality? Let's be honest about it.
