He taught high school for twenty-five years. He’s been a lifelong volunteer with youth in need, particularly incarcerated children. His goal as a YA author is for teens to experience empowerment and hope; to see themselves in his multi-racial characters; and to see how kids like them can remain decent people in an indecent world.
