The Race

.   Paul was making reference to the isthmian games (a kind of Greek Olympics which happened every two years) In those games there was one winner, but only one received a prize, sometimes maybe even a runner up. O’ but honey, if you have been born again and you are in this race, we are all winners! We will all receive the prize of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord! Who has made us more than conquerors!

  So Run! Let’s get in a hurry, running up the King’s highway. We must persevere, he that endures to the end, shall be saved! Those who make it to the finish line! Paul said, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give at that day (the prize) And not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing!
