The past few weeks have marked the Democratic Party leadership and liberal media pundits engage in a campaign to decry the “War of Women”. So much for “civility in discourse”!
It seems as if they will stop at nothing to discredit those who bring a pro-life message. Who'sreally waging a War?
Given the Obama Administration's recent attempt to force religious institutions to pay for contraceptives, the strategy seems appears to make abortion and contraception the iconic issues with regard to women's health. They must demonize pro-lifers as backwards, ignorant and insensitive to women. I guess someone forgot about heart disease, osteoporosis, lupus and cancers, especially those of the breast, cervix and ovaries.
Since when did being pro-life equate to this waging and insidious and cruel war on women?
Be clear, we are not taking about (at least I am not) denying abortion or birth-control, if it’s determined that denying such will endanger the life of the woman. And I would honestly hope that the Catholic Church takes this in consideration. And for certain, we certainly are not taking about heart disease, osteoporosis, breast, cervical or uterine cancers – real health issues for women.
The real “war” is that which is being waged today, is that which seeks to silence those who are bold enough to take a stand for life, which incidentally includes that of females. It is a war to crush the heart and resolve of those right-minded people, who refuse to be silent, in the face of this well- financed and influential counter-culture juggernaut.
Listen to Critical Discourse this Saturday, and say “no” to these forces (or “yes” if you disagree with me), so we can get to the bottom of this “War of Women”, once and for all.
Dr. Day Garder of the Black Pro-Life Union will be our guest!
