# 72 Mike Feurstein

Michael Feurstein owns a movie lighting rental business and a production company, respectively Cucumber Alley Lighting and MovieQuest. His work earned him Best Local Filmmaker credit in reader’s polls from Albany’s Times Union and the Metroland. With his students he has won gold medals from state competitions, Best Video of 2008 in the Times Union’s contest, and more recently a short which has toured globe in more than 14 festivals, with 6 awards, 2 honors and has been featured on WMHT several times. His current crew consists largely of apprentices from the local high schools. He is committed to helping the youth of the area realize their talent as actors, storytellers and crew. These students have worked on set with industry professionals and alongside professional actors with credits on network TV soap operas, feature films and the national stage. He endeavors to help them create their own short films and media projects. He has worked with Proctors on several Education projects for several years, most notably the work on Stories That Dance. He works with Behavior Analysts and Project Link on creating high quality lecture-series DVDs about instructing children with autism. He has produced several regional commercials airing now. He has also directed cinematics for the blockbuster, award-winning Guitar Hero game series. He served as gaffer for an ongoing PBS documentary. His work with producing a commercial DVD for an eyeglass accessory helped earn the company its first sale of 60,000 units. His past work screened at theaters in New York City and venues across the country as part of a traveling film festival. His full time employment is in Scotia-Glenville in a PSP classroom of third graders.
