As we continue our discussion of George Barna & Frank Viola's book: PAGAN CHRISTIANITY (along with their books, "Revolution" and "Reimagining Church"), today we will be discussing church gatherings. In today's IC the saints gather together in a church building, sermon-focused audience-styled "Church Services". However, the original church meetings were interactive, mutually edifying, and never tied down to occuring in one place. Much like a regular conversation...the early church gatherings were inherently interactive and spontaneous. Do Church Buildings and programmed services create passive spectator christians? Does one feel more open to share their testimony in a church pew, or over a homecooked meal?
