I will be interviewing James Lappin,  who is a records management consultant and trainer based in London in the UK.  James has written extensively about the records management features of SharePoint on his blog (www.ThinkingRecords.co.uk).  James is one half of the team behind the enterprise content management podcast series ECM Talk.    In the interview we will discuss themes arising from the SharePoint symposium of the KM world conference held in Washington DC this November. The symposium brought together analysts, practitioners and SharePoint implementers in an attempt to pinpoint the strengths and weakness of SharePoint.  James was there to debate the question of whether or not SharePoint could be described as a records management system.  How does SP 2010 change or extend SharePoint's records management capability?  What are the merits of an in-place vs. records center approach?  We will close with a note on relevant SharePoint and records management resources and upcoming events.
