Katie Stofer

Katie Stofer is a Ph.D. student in Science Education. Her interests lie in studying and improving scientific visualizations to communicate current science to the public. As part of her thesis, she hopes to combine her undergraduate background in neuroscience and her Master's degree in science journalism with Dr. Rowe's work on sociocultural scaffolds for visualizations. She continues to be involved with research on several projects involving the Magic Planet and Science on a Sphere, work she began during her tenure as the Earth science news exhibit manager at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore.
