Ian Franklin Wilkerson – Music Therapy Programs. Ian is Founder of Bay Area Music Therapy. He's a Board Certified Music Therapist and son of a Reichian therapist, who comes from a family of healers.

He has refined his musical skills through years of extensive study and performance, and works from a holistic perspective, integrating breath-work into his music therapy. Ian earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy and Songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.

Ian specializes in helping people find their own unique and empowered voices through improvisation and songwriting. A person-centered therapy provider, he specialize in supporting creativity, self-expression and self-empowerment. Ian received training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) from The Center for Biomedical Research in Music (CBRM) at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. 

He is a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). He is a singer/songwriter and guitar player, recording and performing original compositions. Ian oversees and delivers the Music Therapy Programs deliverd by Paramount Booking International. 

In this interview, Ian and I discuss and explore some various therapies he utilizes in a music therapy approach to healing. Ian gives examples of what music therapy can be helpful for, and he breaks down fo us what is involved in a session of music therapy.  Stay tuned and enjoy the call!
