Independence is a word most do not give much thought to on a daily basis. We take it for granted for the most part. On further inspection, it seemed to us that Independence can have many meanings to different people. While one may believe it is patriotic, others may find it goes much deeper.
On this broadcast, we will bring diversity via music and written word as we present what Independence means to the winners of our Independence Contest. It may surprise you as it surely did us. With music from Deborah Inzerillo and Bonnie Waters and the flash fiction, poetry and short stories from authors, Salvatore Buttaci, Robert Gibbons, Bjorn Svensson, George Korolog and Louie Clay, you may take a new look at the word Independence.
You cannot mention Independence in America without bringing up the name of Abraham Lincoln. So many books have been written on Lincoln yet we found a historical author who took a different approach and we will be speaking with Mr. John McKee Barr about his book,, Loathing Lincoln.
It is always our goal to bring different points of view, and Mr. Barr certainly uncovered, in his research, the often unspoken side of the Lincoln era and Presidency.
