In an effort to honor our number one commitment to always keep our patients, employees, and visitors safe, Sentara is strongly recommending that patients and visitors wear masks when entering Sentara hospitals, urgent care centers, free standing emergency departments, and primary care physician offices in all regions of Virginia. This includes outpatients seeking care or treatment within our hospitals. This policy became effective Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 and is expected to be in place for the remainder of the flu season. Although flu season is in full swing, it's not too late to get the flu vaccination. Join us as we discuss this new masking recommendation with Dr. Scott Miller, infectious disease expert and vice president for medical affairs at Sentara Leigh Hospital.
