In honour of Tangus, Co-therapist of Sraja Linda King....DON'T MISS THIS, IT WILL BRING TEARS OF JOY! On April 12, 2010 our beloved Alberta Hero dog, Tangus, passed away peacefully at the C.A.R.E. Centre Animal Hospital in the loving arms of his companion Straja and with his four-legged protégé Tumbra by his side. Tangus had recently been honoured once again by being nominated for a Volunteer Calgary Leadership Award, 2010. The Our Town section of the Calgary Herald Swerve Magazine published an article in recognition of this latest honour for his life’s work of helping others. In addition Swerve’s editor-in-chief, Shelley Youngblut spoke highly of Tangus in her April 16th chat with David Ward on CKUA. Tangus worked with clients of all ages, from 3 years old to 100 years old, in all types of situations including palliative, grief, mental and emotional stress, self-esteem, trauma, rehabilitation, literacy. An educator, artist and poet, Straja designs programs (graduate and undergraduate) and facilitates workshops nationally and internationally. While earning her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts (both With Distinction) at the University of Calgary, Straja acquired numerous courses in psychology and classical studies. She pursued graduate level Art Therapy at Vermont College (University of Norwich) and completed her MA with Honours in Art Therapy at SetonHill University (Pennsylvania). Straja's clinical experience includes working with clients of all ages in palliative, rehabilitative, school, and day hospital settings. She utilizes individual, and group therapy formats. Straja continues her research into the human/animal companionship bonds and specializes in animal assisted therapies both canine and equine. She is happily assisted in all her workshops, teachings and private practice by Tumbra, a well mannered and gentle Shiloh Shepherd. TO CONTACT KERI PLEASE VISIT www.sacredkinship.com
