    Kate's War: WWII Historical Novel

    in History

Kate's War: WWII Historical Novel with Linda Stewart Henley
Linda says. “I learned about my father’s involvement in World War II only upon re-discovering an unpublished memoir after his death,”
During the war Linda's father took a year off from medical school to volunteer as an escort with the Children’s Overseas Reception Board Program. His diary describes the torpedoing of the SS Volendam and its rescue, based on his first-hand experiences. Hundreds of children’s lives were saved. None were lost. Once Henley learned of her dad’s heroics, she set out to craft Kate’s War.
Linda Stewart Henley is an English-born American. She moved to the United States with her family when she was sixteen and is a graduate of Newcomb College of Tulane University in New Orleans. Her career in university administration took her to many parts of the country.

MONOLOGUE MONDAY, ON TUESDAY - 4.23.24

    in Current Events

We took yesterday off for studio upgrades - but Jim is back tonight, wondering if these campus protests are confirmation that the Baby Boomers were the worst parents ever. Plus: the UN climate chief says the world will end in two years... unless we get 75 trillion dollars - seriously. And: our government finally admits they had a plan to reverse-engineer UFOs - but says they couldn't find any. Bullsh*t, Jim says. If you own a UFO - or even if you don't - you should call in: https://jimatnight.com/call/ or 563-999-3435.

Pro Palestinian movement and how it negates importance of Israel.

    in Current Events

I first present information on the historical, Judaic value of God's permanent promise to the Israeli people of the promised land as stated in Joshua 1 that states the perimeters of the chosen land.  Then we discuss the nuts and botts of Hamas intentions in persecuting Jews and what non negiotable damage they are specifically causing.  Equally so, Israel could display more pragmatism regarding their chosen targets.  We discuss the broader strategies on how diplomatic efforts could relieve tensions and historically, why they have not.  We discuss the level of suffering on both sides.

About News

News, weather, traffic, sports. If it's happening, it's being talked about on BlogTalkRadio. Nothing has the power to move us, motivate us or shake us to our core like what's happening in the world, in the nation and in our neighborhoods. We rely on news for big-picture wants and immediate needs: We plan commutes by traffic reports, our outfits by the weather and our vacations by how the stock market performs. Whether current events happen close to home or across the globe, bookmark this category for in-depth discussions about breaking news and current trends by analysts, authors and educators alike. And if you're fascinated by weather, engage with fellow enthusiasts in conversation about climate change, superstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and more. And it's fun to note that sports – often paired with news, but here a category entirely its own – have rescued many people's social lives, built solely around team schedules.
