The Journey and Collaboration with Jesse Thompson ft Judah Sealy on LATE NITE

    in Entertainment

Jesse "JTJazz" Thompson, multi-talented composer, pianist, and keyboardist, born in "The Land Of Funk" (Dayton, Ohio) attributes his humble beginnings in music to being captivated by a family of musicians: a father who was a professional drummer, Thompson's mother--a church organist/pianist and his brother Marvyn Wheatley (who recorded and played with Parliament and Slave). Industry influences were soul/funk legends The Ohio Players, Lakeside, and Zapp featuring Roger Troutman. Driven to continue the legacy of great musicianship, Thompson became a member of the popular Columbus-based, R&B/Jazz group NexLevel for several years. The collectives released two albums, a string of singles, and shared stages with countless notable artists. In 2021 Thompson wrote and released the uptempo, feel-good melody, "Weekend Groove," ft Althea Rene which catapulted the musician into solo artist, status. Thompson would go on to release a 7-song EP, in 2022, intriguingly titled The Inauguration of JTJazz (Jesse Thompson- the man behind the keys) marking the commencement of a new pathway, and birthing several singles from the project. Judah Sealy, a rising creative within the contemporary jazz genre, is known for his unique sound that comes from a blend of R&B, jazz, gospel, neo-soul, and funk...the common thread between himself and Jesse "JTJAZZ" Thompson. With 2024 being a 'leap year which some say is the year of inspiration, Thompson has resolutely followed his passion by keeping his legacy in music alive by teaming with heavyweight Producer/Guitarist Adam Hawley and collaborating with highly sought after Saxophonist Judah Sealy to create an alluring mid- tempo track entitled, "Late Nite," which drops worldwide 4/1/2024.

    Tom Sellars CEO of Sellars

    in Entertainment

Today on The Neil Haley Show, Neil "The Media Giant" Haley interviews Tom Sellars. Tom Sellars is CEO of Sellars, a leading manufacturer of commercial and consumer green products: kitchen paper towels, shop towels, disposable wipers, bathroom towels & tissues and absorbents that are made with recycled fibers. Founded in 1985 in Milwaukee, Sellars is a first-generation start-up with four siblings each having contributed greatly to the company’s success. They are deeply committed to and passionate about the environment with products made predominantly with recycled and renewable input materials that leave a smaller ecological footprint than comparable products made with virgin materials. Under Tom Sellar's visionary leadership, Sellars is introducing Bravo® – a high-performing kitchen towel that is made with up to 90% post-consumer curbside recycled boxes and paper waste. Unlike the leading brands that are bulky and full of air, Bravo comes in a compressed, space-saving format, which has a smaller environmental footprint. A nationally recognized forward-thinking and planet-friendly voice, Tom Sellars co-founded Concerts for the Environment. For eight years, he was the volunteer Board Chair for the national non-profit that utilized music to raise awareness and funds for the environment. In this role, he was instrumental in producing large-scale concerts including Earth Day on the D.C. Mall and worked with more than 100 famous musicians, including Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson, Queen Latifah and REM. Tom Sellars is also a co-founder, investor, and Board Chair of r.Cup, the leading re-use company that is eliminating single use plastic cups and serveware at concerts, festivals, sporting events, museums and aquariums throughout North America. Notably, the product was launched with U2.

May the 4th Be With You Mace Windu! The Phantom Menace Turns 25 w/Marc Bernardin

    in Entertainment

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week, we celebrate May the 4th and the silver anniversary The Phantom Menace with writer, podcaster Marc Bernardin.
Snap hiss back to a more civilized time. A time before, the internet, podcasts, reaction videos and the scummiest & villainous of them all the  “Fandom Menace”. Star Wars had been out of theaters for 15 years. GI Joes, Transformers, TMNT and even The Power Rangers had taken over toy shelves across the USA. And then came a movie that changed it all… Meet Joe Black.
Well, not exactly Meet Joe Black but rather the world debut of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace trailer and we haven’t stopped talking about Star Wars since.
Have you accepted Jar Jar Binks as your holy savior? Join Grim Shea, Marke, Johnny Heck and The Retro Cool Nerd Jimmy Leszczynski as they blast back to 1999 and where they were physically & psychologically for the theatrical return of Star Wars.
Recorded live from the Golden Apple Foundation booth at WonderCon 2024, our guest Marc Bernardin is a monster of modern fandom. He’s written for LA Times, Hollywood Reporter, Entertainment Weekly and staff writer for Alphas, Castle Rock, Treadstone and Carnival Row. He’s co-hosted Batman Beyond with Kevin Smith and The Battlestar Galacticast with Tricia Helfer but he comes to use as a comic book writer on the new Mace Windu series for Marvel. And if if his cred couldn’t get any more incredulous, he’s also written for DC & Image Comics where in 2018, he won an Inkpot Award by CCI.
I have a good feeling about this!
